And an Angry New Year!
It has indeed been one birdtastic year hatchlings! Our last post of 2014 is a roll call of all the awesome yet unmistakably angry events, launches and surprises that kept us all entertained. At least we hope it did! This year we met Stella and the Golden Island flock for the the first time in their very own game, and their very own animated series:
Meanwhile, on Piggy Island, the EggSpark touched down, and the Autobirds rolled out in Angry Birds Transformers.
Angry Birds Go! reached 100 million downloads, and you all collectively raced a distance of 2.1 LIGHT-YEARS in game since its release! Remarka-bird! This year also saw the birds hitting the court in NBA Ham Dunk, and they rolled with the Pangolins in AB Friends with the help of United for Wildlife. Check out the Duke of Cambridge introducing the tournament:
The birds of Angry Birds Star Wars II channelled their rebellious side… but the pork side sought revenge!
The Angry Birds even sprouted arms and legs this year (banana Chuck anyone?). You flung a BILLION birds in Angry Birds Friends Sneak Peek Week to #UnlockTheFlock – the first image of our favorite feathered friends from the set of upcoming Angry Birds movie! This was the first time in mobile game history that players worldwide were responsible for a movie reveal (OMG!). Exciting things are afoot for those bipedal birds methinks.
The struggle against the pigs continued hilariously in the second season of Angry Birds Toons on ToonsTV. Elsewhere on Piggy Island, the pigs even launched their own series, Piggy Tales (Somehow. Not the sharpest tools in the shed those pigs)! And to top it off, ToonsTV reached a whopping 4 billion views. Whoa. Just birdmazing…
Wait! How can we forget – the birds also embarked on their own brand-new RPG adventure this year in Angry Birds Epic. Red as a Knight? Chuck as a Mage? What on fantasy Piggy Island is happening here?
To close out the year, we headed to Finland for the Holidays with Terence and Tony in On Finn Ice. Terence also discovered his Santamental side this Christmas…
And we also celebrated our 5th BirdDay! But we didn’t do it alone – it was extra birdacious thanks to your birderiffic fan art that inspired the next level!
So much has happened this year! And it’s pretty obvious, we couldn’t have done any of it without our won-bird-ful fans (that’s you!). So a sincere thank you goes out to all of you bird-flingers for making this year the most birdsome yet! I propose that we make a New Year’s resolution to make next year even MORE birdtacular!
Happy New Year! See you in 2015!
My new year’s resolution? Use more adjectives with “bird” in them XD I’ll see myself out .____.
