So how does Angry Birds Fight work anyway? What is a puzzle battle? Every level in Angry Birds Fight is a real-time competition against another player (well, most levels anyway – there are Boss Pigs, but that’s a lesson for another day). There are two parts to each encounter – 1) puzzle, 2) Fight!

Phase 1 – Puzzle. During phase 1, it’s your job to match as many birds as possible by swapping their position on the grid. It takes at least three birds to make a match, but matching 4 or 5 will unleash special attacks! Every match you make will add to your attack power and defense (this is important for the next phase). Oh yeah – and you only have 30 seconds, so make your matches count!

Phase 2 – Fight! This is when your character faces off against your opponent. The amount of damage your attack does is based on how many matches you made during the puzzle phase.

Once you get the basics down, and you’re puzzling and fighting like a champ, you can get into the nitty gritty stuff – equipping. As you battle more opponents, you will amass a collection of crazy items that your characters can use. Equip your character with different items to increase your attack and defense. Simple!
