Angry Birds is officially 5 years old!

Now we’re talking! It’s party time bird flingers! Angry Birds is 5 years old!

We’re kicking it off with the release of our 5th BirdDay episode in Angry Birds! If you’ll remember, in October we opened submissions for fan art to inspire the levels in the next episode of Angry Birds. Our partners, including Angry Birds Nest and Pigineering among others, supplied the themes, you supplied the art, and we ended up with some preeeeeetty amazing stuff. We took 30 of those bad boys, waved the programming wand over them, said the magic words, and turned them into playable levels. Now it’s time to rip the paper on that new update and see which art has been chosen! Get the update here!

Thousands of you sent in your ideas. We were totally overwhelmed with the amount of submissions we received. Thank you guys! You really made this BirdDay special! It was certainly tough to choose the winners.

We want to give you a little something to share the BirdDay joy. For our BirdDay week, we’re giving away free items in almost all Angry Birds games on Google Play! See the full list of participating games below.

Here’s what you do:

Step 1: Open an Angry Birds game

Step 2: Enter the code ANGRY-BIRDS

Step 3: Profit.

But really, here’s how it’s done in Angry Birds. Tap the arrow icon in the bottom right of the Angry Birds title screen. Next, tap the button with the keyboard in it. After that, enter the code, ‘ANGRY-BIRDS’. Then, receive good stuff! Last, wish us a happy BirdDay on twitter (@angrybirds) with the hashtag #BirdDay5!

For the other games, the keyboard can be found in the settings menu (Angry Birds Transformers, Seasons, and Epic), in the shop (Angry Birds Friends), or just right there on the title screen (Angry Birds Rio).
