Angry Tales of Terror: Ground Zero, Part 2
Happy Halloween bird flingers! May your trick or treatings be fruitful and your candy be plentiful. But for now, it’s time to catch up with Walt the field mouse. Will he finally find some much needed food, or will he be hungry for the rest of his life? Find out in the conclusion to Ground Zero!
Upon descending the stairs further into the pig’s underground lab, Walt immediately regretted his decision – if you can even call it a decision. Above the lab above was cold and sterile, and experiments were being carried out in their respective rooms, but one level below was in total disarray. Broken glass strewn about the floor. Carts carrying strange looking equipment overturned everywhere. Blobs of orange goo dabbled here and there.
What is this orange goo anyway? Whatever it is, Walt’s instincts were telling him that it was not food. He was so hungry at this point that he would eat just about anything, but even a starving field mouse knows his limits.
Walt scurried from room to room look for anything edible. Funny. There doesn’t seem to be anyone down here. From the looks of the place, it seems as if something terrible has happened down here. It’s not too much of a stretch to think that one of the pigs’ experiments got away from them. We’re talking about pigs here after all. But where are the pigs Walt heard from the surface? He is filled with a sudden sense of dread. What if there is no food down here after all.
Just as soon as that thought crosses his mind, Walt hears something. A pig? Walt turns his attention toward the direction from which the sound came. It was a pig! At the end of a hallway, Walt sees a pig running down a perpendicular hall. He must be heading toward the food! Walt headed in that direction. However, just after the pig passed from sight, a second figure crossed the passageway. The second figure was most certainly not a pig, or anything that Walt could even identify. It was giant, and shapeless, and slimy, and orange.
The orange blob slithered pig down the hall after the fleeing pig. As it passed, Walt could see poor pigs trapped inside the blob’s transparent body, their faces frozen in terror. Walt realized at that moment that there was in fact food down there, but it wasn’t for him. The monster was feasting on the pigs, and if he wasn’t careful, perhaps he would become dinner too!
Ok – food search over! Walt switched to full on evasion mode. He might have to deal with some hostile pigs closer to the surface, but anything is better than being devoured by an orange slime monster. He turned towards the entrance to escape, but when he turned around he was met with a terrifying scene.
The small splotches of orange goo that were splashed all over the place seemed to be… moving. Walt heard a squelching sound all around him as he witnessed the slime collect in one spot on the floor between him and the exit, the ball of orange slime growing to monstrous proportions until it blocked the entire hallway. Walt looked through the orange goo monster to the exit. He knew he could never reach it. Walt could only retreat and hope for a rescue.
Is there anyone who can save our hungry hero from certain doom? That’s up to you! Play the Angry Birds Friends Halloween Tournament until November 7, and destroy the pigs’ monstrous experiments once and for all!
