Curse of the Mummy Pig: Part 2
We’re back with part two of Curse of the Mummy Pig! In case you missed the first part, you can read it here!
—
Entering the ruin, you continue down a long corridor covered in crude glyphs. Torches line the wall. How are these still lit? This place must have been sealed for hundreds -no, thousands of years before you arrived. Eventually you find yourself in an opulent burial chamber. A great sarcophagus occupies a central position, and scattered about the room are piles of what appear to be golden –eggs? You could swear you smell bacon. You brush centuries of dust and sand from the engravings on the face of the stone receptacle. These markings… they’re indecipherable.
If you could read the cartouche emblazoned there, you would realize that you are in the burial chamber of King TutanHAMun. You would know that whoever disturbs the king’s sleep is doomed to suffer a terrible fate. You would turn back immediately and run. But alas, the glyphs here are not familiar to you. You continue your work, not heeding the illegible warnings.
Your crowbar finds the opening of the sarcophagus and you free the lid with a lurch. It falls to the floor with an earth-shaking thud. Peering inside, you see only darkness and swirls of dust. –What is this? The earth has not stopped shaking! You stagger to maintain your balance. Torrents of sand fall from the ceiling. The walls are crumbling around you! It’s almost as if –this structure was built to be knocked over!
To be continued…
