International Day of Happiness – Get Angry. Get Happy. Go Green.
March 19th is the UN’s International Day of Happiness. That’s not really our flocks style though, is it? Over here, we’re all about the anger. There are plenty of things in this world to be angry about for sure – poverty, hunger, and climate change come to mind.
That said, there are a lot of things to be happy about too. Case in point: the UN’sSustainable Development Goals. Remember those bad things from earlier? The SGDs are here to get rid of those, but we’re all going to have to dig deep to get this thing done.
How exactly can we move the needle on the 20th? Great question. It’s a good thing we have UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, to explain just that in the video below:
Pretty simple. I’d advise against hitching a ride on a boat full of pigs, but these are all super doable. Recap time – on the 20th, help Red go green by doing any (or all) of the following:
- Conserve water.
- Save electricity.
- Use public transportation.
- Plant a tree.
- Recycle.
Share your Happiness Day activities on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #AngryBirdsHappyPlanet to show the world what you’re doing to help. If you want to get out and do something on this happy day, check out what we’ve got going on at the Angry Birds Happy Planet website where you can find events, videos, and a other cool stuff as well. If you’re feeling lazy, that’s ok too. If Red can go green for the International Day of Happiness, anyone can.
